Honda's line of Rebel bikes has proven highly popular the world over, especially as starters. With time, however, riders tend to want something more powerful. Honda found that buyers of their Rebel 300 and 500 models were switching to other brands due to the limitations of the Rebel bikes. The manufacturer is looking to reclaim its market share with the recent release of its Rebel 1100.

The bike is powered by a modified version of the 2020 CRF1100 Africa Twin’s 1084cc parallel-twin motor. It now features the option of a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with updated valve timing and ignition settings, or a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The cruiser comes with four riding modes to choose from, including, Standard, Rain, Sport, and User. The last is a customisable option. Select a helmet from our motorcycle helmet collection to suit your riding style.

The Rebel 1100 also features a heavier flywheel and inertia than the Africa Twin, making it better adapted for cruising for low to midrange performance. It can achieve a peak power of 86 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 72 lb-ft at 6,250 rpm. Not as aggressive as the Africa Twin.

The Rebel 1100 does however offer techier features including traction control, cruise control, ABS, LED lighting, and engine brake control. You choose your options via the LCD dash or buttons around the handlebar. There is even a USB outlet and storage compartment under the seat for your convenience.

Its tubular steel frame rides on fatter Dunlop tyres with a 130-section 18-incher at the front and a 180-section 16-inch tyre at the back. With the seat at just 700mm, this makes for a comfortable cruiser style that still manages to grind to an effective halt when needed thanks to the 330mm front disc backed by a radial-mounted 4-piston calliper. Tackling corners has been made easier as the Rebel 1100 manages a 35-degree bank angle on either side. Good enough that you do not have to slow down much to get around a bend. Weighing in at 487 pounds for the manual and 509 for the DCT model, it is a burlier, more powerful, and feature-rich Rebel at a reasonable price.
